32 Hour SST Bundle

The 32 Hour SST Bundle is a mandatory Supervisor Site Safety Training package required for designated construction supervisors working on New York City job sites with a Site Safety Plan. Under Local Law 196 of 2017, supervisors must complete approved site safety training hours and carry a valid SST card as proof of compliance.

The 32 Hour SST Bundle provides a significant portion of the total training hours required for a Supervisor SST Card. The remaining hours are typically completed by finishing OSHA 30. Together, these courses ensure supervisors meet NYC Department of Buildings training standards.

The 32 Hour SST Bundle is required for individuals serving in roles such as:

• Site Safety Managers
• Site Safety Coordinators
• Construction Superintendents
• Concrete Safety Managers
• Competent Persons designated under Local Law 196

This Supervisor Site Safety Training (SST) package helps supervisors understand regulatory responsibilities, site hazard management, and compliance requirements specific to NYC construction sites.

Training Includes

The 32 Hour SST Bundle includes the following approved courses:

• 8-Hour Fall Prevention – Identifying and preventing fall hazards
• 8-Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher (Chapter 33) – Review of NYC site safety management requirements
• 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User – Safe scaffold operation and hazard awareness
• 2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness – Workplace substance abuse prevention
• 2-Hour Pre-Task Meetings and Toolbox Talks – Safety planning and communication procedures
• 2-Hour Site Safety Plan (SSP) – Understanding and implementing site safety plans
• Elective Courses – Additional specialized and general safety topics as required

Each component of the 32 Hour SST Bundle is structured to strengthen supervisory oversight and improve construction site safety compliance.

Training Requirements

To successfully complete the 32 Hour SST Bundle, participants must:

• Maintain 100% attendance in the online training
• Achieve a minimum score of 70% on the written assessment
• Complete the course evaluation form

Completion of the 32 Hour SST Bundle allows eligible supervisors to apply for their Supervisor SST Card in accordance with Local Law 196 requirements.
